The one true God in three Persons
We believe there is one true God, who is the Supreme Being, unlimited, infinitely perfect and eternally existent in the Persons of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Scripture sets forth a Father who is God (Romans.1: 7), a Son who is God (Hebrews. 1:8) and a Holy Spirit who is God (Acts. 5:3-4). The three Persons of the Godhead are co-equal, co-eternal and co-substantial. The Father is all the fullness of the Godhead invisible (John 1:18); the Son is all the fullness of the Godhead manifested (John 1:18-18); the Holy Spirit is all the fullness of the Godhead acting immediately upon the creature (1Cor.2: 9-10). The Father purposes, the Son executes, the Holy Spirit effects, in oneness of essence and unity of purpose, will and involvement (Genesis 1: Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43: 11; 44: 6-8; 45: 5; Mathew 3:16-17; 28:19; 2Corinthians 13:14).
The deity, incarnation and mission of Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ and that He became incarnate was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory. He is true God and true man. All the gospels testify to His humanity, John testifies to both His humanity and deity (John 1:1 – 18; 5:18; 8: 58; 10:30; 17:5; 20: 28; Philippians. 2:6-11).
The deity and work of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the deity and present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. We believe every believer can and should be baptized with the Holy Spirit for endowment with power to witness and for service; this experience is usually manifested in speaking in other tongues. The Holy Spirit convicts, converts, indwells, fills, empowers, enlightens, guides, helps, and sanctifies people for God and His purposes. Thus, regeneration, empowerment and sanctification are works of the Holy Spirit, requiring the corporation of the person(s) involved to produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the scriptures (Genesis 1:2; 1:26; John 14-16; Acts 2:1-4; 5:4; 13:1-4; Hebrews 9:14; Psalms. 104:30; 1Corinthians. 2:10-11, Matthew. 28: 19; 1Corinthians 12; Galatians 5:22-24).
God’s sovereignty over the universe
We believe in God’s sovereignty over the universe, seen and unseen, as its Creator, Sustainer, Ruler and Object of its existence (Genesis 1; Job 38-29; 11; 93; 1-4; Acts 17”26-28; Romans 11:36; 1Corinthians 8:6).
The inspiration, infallibility and authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God, eternally reliable and the basis for faith and practice. It is God’s written self-revelation to mankind. As originally given, it is entirely trustworthy (2Timothy 3:16-17; 2Peter. 1:20-21; Luke 21L33; Ps, 119:105; Hebrews 4:12-13; 1Peter 1:23.)
Man’s creation and relationship with God
We believe man was created by God, in His image, and sinless; he was created spirit, soul and body to relate with God and serve Him (Genesis 1:26-27; 2; Psalms 139; Isaiah 43:21; 1Corinthians 8:6).
The fallen nature of man
We believe in the universal guilt and sinfulness of all men since the fall, rendering them subject to God’s wrath and condemnation without discrimination on account of race, nation, color, social position or otherwise. Sin entered the world by the activity of Satan and the willful disobedience of man. It is rebellion against God and contrary to His character and will. In his present state, man is a fallen being whose only hope of restoration is in Jesus Christ (Genesis 3; Romans 1-3; Ephesians 2: 1-10).
The salvation of man
We believe in redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin through Jesus Christ alone, the incarnate Son of God whose blood was shed for the remission of sins. Salvation is receiving forgiveness for sin from God and being put right with Him through the Holy Spirit and being made a child of God with its inherent blessings. It is by the grace of God through personal faith in Jesus Christ. The inward evidence of salvation to the believer is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit in his spirit; the outward evidence of salvation to all people is the transformed life of the believer (Romans 8; Ephesians 2: 8-9; Galatians 2-5).
Faith and works
We believe salvation is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by human works. However, saving faith is accompanied by repentance, transformation of life and production of good works for God. On the day of reckoning, the believer will be judged according to his or her works (Ephesians 2:8-10; 1Corinthians 3:10-15; 5: 17; Galatians 5:22-26; 2Timothy 4: 6-8; James 1:22-25; 2: 18-26).
The Church
We believe in the one Universal Church, which is the Body of Christ. Christ is its Head and all who are born again are its members. The invisible or universal church finds expression in the visible church of local congregations, fellowships and ministries. However, not every member of a visible congregation may necessarily belong to the true church of God. The main purpose of the church is to offer worship to God and be holy to Him, fellowship and ministry to itself, and evangelism and service to the world (Mathew 16: 18; Acts 2-4; 1Cor, 12:12 –26; Ephesians 1:3; Ephesians 4; Isaiah 43: 21; 1Peter. 2:9-10; Revelation. 19:7-8; 21: 1-4).
Holiness
We believe in holiness, devotion to God and practical Christianity in general as the life style of the church and individual believers. Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit in a surrendered life of the believer. The believer should walk in holiness, obedience and trust in God (Leviticus 11:44-45; Isaiah 8:13; Psalms 73:25; Mathew 5:8; Luke 14: 25-26; John 13: 17; Acts 24: 16; Hebrews 12:14; 1Peter 1:15-16).
The Great Commission
We believe in the evangelism of the world and its discipleship in accordance with the Great Commission, with miracles, signs and wonders accompanying. To know God, make Him Known and the advancement of His kingdom are the believer’s priority in the world. (Mathew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20 Luke 5L10-11; 9: 60; 24:46-47; John 4:34-35; Acts 1:8; 2Cor. 5: 20; 2Timothy 4: 1-5; 1Peter 2:9).
Baptism in Water
We believe in the ordinance of water baptism, by immersion, after believing, not before. In baptism the believer publicly identifies with Christ in His redemptive acts, including His death burial and resurrection, and publicly declares his newfound life in Christ. It is an outward symbol of an inward change. It is done in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Mathew 28:19; Acts 2:41; Mark 16:15-16; Romans 6: 1-4; Col. 2: 11-14).
The Lord’s Supper
This is also known as Holy Communion. We believe in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper as an ordinance for all believers. In it we remember the death of our Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation and the new Covenant God has established with us in His blood. At the Lord’s Table we are in communion or fellowship with Christ at His invitation; therefore, a participant at this celebration ought to examine himself before participating because he or she is going to commune with the Holy One (Mathew 26: 17-30; Mark 14:12-26; Luke 22: 7-23; John 6:51-59; 1Corithians 11:23-32).
Spiritual gifts
We believe in the spiritual gifts as listed in Romans 12; 1Conrinthians 12; Ephesians 4; 1Peter 4:8-11 as now available to believers in the church for service; and we believe in the fruit of the Spirit, as in Galatians 5, for character.
Miracles
We believe in divine healing and other miracles through faith in Jesus Christ and that Jesus died for the total redemption of man, spirit, soul and body (Luke 4:18-21; 10: 1-20; Mathew 10: 5-8; Mark 6:12-13; 16: 17-18; John 14: 12).
Spirit World
We believe there is a spirit world composed of good and bad/fallen angelic beings. The good angels serve God; the bad angels are in opposition to God (Daniel 10; Luke 2:9-15; Ephesians 6:12; Jude 6; Revelation 12: 7-12).
Life after death
We believe in life after death. The dead continue to exist in a state of consciousness awaiting the resurrection. There will be a resurrection of the saved and later the lost, those that are saved to the resurrection of eternal life and the lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation (Daniel 12: 2-3; Mathew 25; Luke 16:19-31; 1Corinthians 15; Revelation 20).
Jesus Christ’s return
We believe Jesus Christ will come again physically, in glory, and will rule with His followers for a thousand years before the final judgment and eternity. Thus, the last things in human history include: the rapture, the rule of the Anti-Christ, Christ’s physical return and rule, resurrection of the dead, judgment, eternity (Mathew 24-25; Mark 13; Luke 17: 22-23; 21; John 14: 1-4; Acts 17:31; Hebrews 9:27; 2Peter 3: 1-13; Revelation 13:19; 20; 21; 22).
Pre-eminence of God’s will and glory in all things
We believe the will of God and His glory are the determining factors in a person’s actions and in all things, following which there will be perfection and fulfillment in all things among His creatures; contrary situation results in disorder, dissatisfaction and destruction. God is the ultimate value, in whom all things find true meaning, and by whose will they exist and for whose glory they were made. To God be the glory (Deuteronomy 6:1-13; Joshua 1: 8; 1Samuel 15:22-23; Psalms 119; 1Samuel 43: 7; 42: 8; 48:11; Jeremiah 9: 23-24; Matthew. 6:9-10; Luke. 22: 42; John. 4:34; Romans 14: 7-12; 1Corinthians 10: 31; Colossians, 3L 17, 23; Hebrews 10: 7; James. 4: 13-17; 1Peter 4:11; Revelation 4:11]).
Priesthood of believers
We believe In the Priesthood of all believers (Exodus 19:6; Isaiah 61:6; Revelation 1:6; Revelation 5:10).
